The project demanded fire-rated partitions for corridor compartmentation, acoustic windows for guest rooms near a busy urban road, LED glass feature walls for the lobby and restaurant, and switchable privacy glass for bathroom enclosures. Each technology had to integrate with the interior design vision while meeting Building Regulations and hotel brand standards. Coordinating four product categories through a single supplier reduced the procurement burden on the main contractor, but meant the glazing package had to align with multiple trade interfaces — joiners, electricians, MEP contractors, and the hotel brand's own design review process. All materials had to be sourced and staged to meet a fixed hotel opening date with no margin for delay. ## Our Solution Glass Technique Ltd provided a coordinated glazing package across four product categories. Fire-rated EI60 glass partitions were installed in corridor and stairwell areas. Acoustic laminated glass (Rw 48 dB) was specified for guest room windows facing the road. LED glass feature walls with programmable RGB lighting were installed in the lobby and restaurant. Switchable PDLC glass was used for bathroom enclosures in all guest rooms, providing privacy on demand. A dedicated project manager coordinated delivery schedules across all four product lines, ensuring materials arrived in sequence with the main build programme.
