# Embassy Security Upgrade — Ballistic-Rated Glazing

Glass Technique Ltd supplied and coordinated the installation of ballistic-rated security glazing for a diplomatic building in central London. The project replaced existing ground-floor windows with Technopact FB7 bullet-resistant glass systems with forced-entry resistance, meeting the highest security classification for occupied buildings.

## The Challenge

A diplomatic building in central London required a security upgrade to all ground-floor fenestration. The existing glazing provided insufficient protection against forced entry and ballistic threats. The replacement system had to meet BS EN 1063 BR7 ballistic classification and BS EN 356 P8B forced-entry resistance while maintaining the building's architectural appearance. All work had to be completed without disrupting embassy operations or compromising the building's security perimeter during installation.

## Our Solution

Glass Technique Ltd specified and installed Technopact FB7 ballistic-rated glass systems across all ground-floor windows. Each panel was a multi-laminate composite of glass and polycarbonate interlayers, providing both ballistic and forced-entry protection. Installation was phased to maintain security coverage at all times — no more than two window openings were replaced simultaneously. All frames were certified steel systems with anti-lever protection, and the installation was completed under security-cleared supervision.

## Results
