## The Challenge

A 12-floor commercial office tower in central London required a modern privacy solution for executive offices and boardrooms. The client needed flexible partitioning that could switch between transparent and opaque states — maintaining the open-plan aesthetic while providing instant privacy for confidential meetings. Traditional blinds were rejected due to maintenance costs and visual impact on the building's premium interior design. The specification also had to satisfy the landlord's fit-out guide, which imposed strict weight limits on partition glass and required all electrical components to be concealed within slimline frames. Lead times were tight — the client needed each floor operational within a four-week turnover window to avoid lease penalties.

## Our Solution

Glass Technique Ltd specified and installed 850m² of Technolite PDLC switchable glass across all 12 floors. Each partition panel was connected to a centralised control system integrated with the building's management platform, allowing individual room control via wall switches, remote controls, and the building's existing Crestron system. The installation included custom-sized panels up to 2300mm width, with edge-sealed laminated construction for acoustic performance. Panels were fabricated off-site to precision tolerances and delivered floor-by-floor, enabling the installation team to complete each level within the agreed four-week cycle without disrupting occupied floors above or below.
